Our new shoe modell "Aurlands Buxton - The Original Penny Loafer" is an upgrated version of the famours Aurland shoe. It's shape goes more back to the first Aurland shoes, but is also more elegant and modern, The shoe got a better insole and the leather we are using is a bit softer than the one we use for the classic modell; that is to increase the comfort for your feet already from day one. The sole is Blake stitched after it is glued to the shoe.

the shoes are handmade in Aurland, at the Sognefjord, in our little shoe factory, The factory was established in 1939 by Inga and Andreas Wangen. The familiy owned the factory in three generations until today's owners took over in 2008.

The leather is from cattle grazing in Europe and tanned at Sepici.

Leather sole is fantastic for dancing - if you like to dance the moon walk you should not go for rubber soles - but they are unfortunately not suitable for rainy days. Rubber sole is an "allrounder" soft to your feet and giving them grip on slippery surfaces.

Here you can find some advice to keep your shoes in perfect shape.

Aurland shoes hav a long history. Back in the days ther were 19 shoe factories in Aurlands with over 100 people working for them. Today Aurland Shoefactory is the only remaining shoefactory in Norway that is producing the famous Aurland Shoe, also knwon as "The original Penny Loafer".
